Questions & Answers

In an effort to make the process of insuring your production simpler, we have compiled a series of answers to commonly asked questions.

1 How many productions are we insured for?
Your NODA Scheme policy provides cover for all the productions and one night concerts your Society performs in the year. There is no limit to the number you can do.

2 Are volunteer helpers covered?
In respect of the Personal Accident section, this cover only applies to those under 80 and provided they are declared under the number of persons insured. Personal Accident cover does not apply to persons professionally employed in the arts and entertainment industry.

Basically, Public Liability covers your legal liabilities arising out of negligence to persons and their property. Personal Accident covers officials, members and voluntary helpers for accidents (regardless of whether the Society are negligent) arising out of the Society's activities.

4 What is member to member liability?
If one Society member causes bodily injury to another Society member, the injured member would not be able to hold the Society responsible under the insurance because, being a member of the Society they would be suing themselves! Your NODA scheme policy has been extended to provide this cover, this is known as Member to Member Liability.

If you hire one for a production the Liability sections of the policy cover your legal liability. If they are Society member's or are volunteering their service then they are covered under the Personal Accident section and the Liability sections cover the legal liability of the Society.
